People just like you who built hovercrafts from our plans.

Here are some pictures from people just like you showing their crafts. There is a brief summary along with images.  Click on the thumb-nail to view the full-size image.  Please note that some of these crafts are different than shown in the plans provided.  Some of these changes can be dangerous so be careful if you decide to vary from the plans provided. Feel free to send us your pictures for others to see: support@xinventions.com.  Thanks for your support!

Thought I would drop you a jpg of a hovercraft I built for my 12yr old daughter based entirely on xinventions.com.  We needed a project to keep us busy during the summer, I was thinking to build a gokart till I fell upon your site.

So a great Big Thank you!

P.S. - plenty more pics and info if you're interested, just reply back.

Dear Andy,

I bought one of your plans for your first hovercraft. I just wanted to let you know that it works really well! My brother is one hundred sixty pounds and it lifts him.

Attached is a picture of the finished craft.

Thanks,

Steve Johnsen

I found your site a few years back and have visited it on many occasions.  I built a small P.A.C. of my own after seeing all of yours.  I am more interested in your hovercraft though.  In the summer of 2003 I decided that I too would construct a hovercraft.  With some help from a friend I was able to put together a complete craft. It was 4x8 ft. in size and had two engines.  The body was made out of 1/4 in. plywood with a 2 in. thick piece Styrofoam in-between.  It had a 4 h.p. lawn mower engine with a 20 in. fan that I think came out of an air conditioner.  The trust engine was a 3 h.p. horizontal shaft that I connected with a pulley to a 30 in. home made fan.  I made the fan in shop class at my high school.  I would like to thank you and one of favorite TV shows ,Junkyard Wars, for the inspiration to take on this project.  I attached some pictures and feel free to put them on your site if you want.  My main question is about the hoverboard project that I have seen posted on your site.  I too have considered building such a board but have not had the time or the money to get started.  The only plans I’ve got so far are still in my head.  I noticed that the posting was removed from your site and I’m wondering if your having these same problems.  A little back round information; I live in Ohio and am a senior in high school.  I want go into Mechanical Engineering also but have not got a full scholarship.  I will probably have to work my way through college or take out some loans.  Thanks for the time and if you have any questions just send me an email.

p.s. I hade to take apart the hovercraft because it was taking up to much space in my garage and it didn't really work to well.  It weighed to much and was under powered.  It hovered great without all of the trust parts through. I'm stilled please with it, after all it was my first try at building a hovercraft.

i am a physics teacher at a high school in Texas and i am looking for some easy advice on hovercrafts. my students are making hovercrafts for a project but i am unimpressed by the hovercrafts that just float and want to help them make crafts that are functional and fun. Are there any tips that would help them, make a drivable craft???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

my dad purchased the plans for the hover craft a couple weeks ago and we have built every thing up till the propeller and the wood around it. we have been having problems with it. are mane problem is that is not stable and tips left and right sometimes forward and back. we were wondering what might cause that and how to fix it. we were also wondering how wide and tall the skid blocks are and how close they are to the edge of the hover craft. we have made slight modifications but nothing much. im 14 and it would be great if you emailed me back with answers to my questions.

                                   thanks,

Hi, My name is Garret Van Swearingen. Myself and a group of friends are attempting to build a hovercraft similar to the one you guys did for our highschool physics class. We have two leaf blowers to lift it, a 5 hp horizontal shaft lawn mover engine, and we carved an immensely powerful 36" prop. I will include a picture of ours. Thankyou so much.

Thank you for your help with the bearing, I had no trouble finding it.

The leaf blower you asked about came from my Papaw's garage, so no telling where he got it! We are sending you a couple more pictures taken like you asked. It seems that our computer won't let us send more than two pictures at a time. I will send more as soon as I can load them up.

Thank you again for all your help!!!

Sincerely,

Joshua
